We would like to kindly inform you that the Polish Association of Environmental and Natural Resource Economists is organising an International Scientific Conference "Resilient and sustainable economies" to be held on 25-29.IX.2024 in Giby near Augustów.

The conference aims to undertake and inspire as broad and in-depth a discussion as possible on the impact of crisis phenomena on the directions, policy and practice of sustainable development. The experience of recent years with the COVID-19 pandemic, new major armed conflicts, and the escalation of the climate crisis indicate how important a scientific and political issue is in terms of the impact of crisis phenomena on the prospects for sustainable development. The successful reorientation of the European Union's and the world's economies towards sustainability requires that economies and societies be more resilient to crisis phenomena, and that responses to current and future crises be more sustainable.

The Conference "New Challenges for Sustainable Development"

The Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and the Polish Association of Environmental and Resource Economists jointly invite you to a conference called New Challenges for Sustainable Development, to be held on 28-29 September 2023 in Warsaw (at the SGH).

The aim of the conference is to discuss theorists and practitioners working in the field of sustainable development and to integrate and network with the research community. During the deliberations of the Conference, we want to seek answers to the following questions:

What challenges to sustainable development arise from the current political and economic situation?
What barriers do we diagnose to achieving Sustainable Development Goals?
How do different stakeholder groups (including especially local authorities, companies, and universities) practically implement the tenets of sustainable development?
How to shape Poland’s climate and energy policy in the context of sustainable development and the political situation?
What development challenges, taking into account the principles of sustainable development, are facing Poland, Europe, and the world?

Change of name of the journal "Ekonomia i Środowisko - Economics and the Environment"

Due to the internationalisation of the journal "Economics and Environment", the Board of the Foundation of Environmental and Natural Resource Economists, in agreement with the Foundation Council and the Polish Association of Environmental and Natural Resource Economists, has decided to change the name of the journal to: "Economics and Environment".

By the decision of the District Court in Białystok on 13.03.2023, the title of the journal is: "Economics and Environment".

W dniu 28 października 2021 roku zmarł Profesor dr hab. inż. Bazyli Poskrobko – Fundator Fundacji Ekonomistów Środowiska i Zasobów Naturalnych oraz wieloletni redaktor naczelny Czasopisma „Ekonomia i Środowisko”.

Redakcja Czasopisma w numerze 3(78) publikuje artykuł pro memoria poświęcony Profesorowi, autorstwa T. Borysa, S. Czai i B. Fiedora.

Nie umiera ten, kto trwa w sercach i naszej pamięci.
